I was born in Loughborough but spent most of my life in Nottingham. Since 1995 I have lived and worked in Bristol.

I regularly write for the Rugby History Society, and have written articles in programmes for various clubs

I am a qualified RFU Coach and formerley coached at Clifton Rugby Club in Bristol (2001-2007) and Old Culverhaysians in Bath (2007-2008)

I was Chairman of the Junior Section of Clifton Rugby Club from 2005-2006
